Watermark on news? possible?

i saw a cool arabian site with a watermark effect in the news on the startsite

how can i make this?

this effekt is very cool and give the news a complet new feeling. is it possible to add this effekt simpley with help from the photogallery watermark mod? (i know it have to be coded new)

Those are not watermarks. the text are printed directly on the images.

You can use the imagettftext function to write text on images but I totally recommend you not to. It creates a lot of server load, a lot of traffic for the users and contradicts all usability guidelines.
Impossible things are there to be made possible

this is using just using imagestring which has much worse quality than the truetype or postscript functions making it even less recommandable Wink
Impossible things are there to be made possible
