I have a lot of sites backed up in different versions and when I troubleshoot it happens I replace all PHP-Fusion files, or clean out the site, deleting everything, and upload a fresh set.

We have several folders to monitor when doing this:

Code Gist: Download source

/forum/attachments/
/images
/images/avatars
/images/news
/images/articles/
/images/smileys

so when deleting a site, to make sure we have nothing but relevant files on it, all those directories require special attention, and maybe some more.

Is it possible to use one single directory for all these? Use a file naming script like giving the uploaded files of any category a prefix:
Code Gist: Download source

/upload/avatar_hien35,
/upload/uploadedimage_screenshot567,
/upload/attachment_domi9f65
/upload/news_f56fe4
/upload/article-category_ghosstories75

??

Who the hell thought "erectus" was a good species name for our ancestors?
