Ok, I set a macro up to post automatically. Are macros considered bots?

If you know how it works your handwritten script can easily pass the test. But for now this algorithm is new and most of bots can not go through it.

Yes. But I try to fix this in next release.

UPD: Replace jquery.touch.js with one from the archive to add touch events supporting for mobile devices. Successfully tested on iOS 7 and Android 4.2.

Yeah , that is our ordinary reality with them nasty bots and their makers.
I think it is great to see new methods with simple incorp.

Nice approach FILON in the fight against spam.Good

I am investigating anti bot/spam measures. The approach I like is to add a hidden form field. If the hidden form field contains submitted data you know it is a bot, because normal users don't see and don't enter data in that field. So you can block the bot and let valid users pass.

To avoid modding contact, register, lostpassword etc php files it would be nice to create a function for this globally or use includes/classes/UserFields*.php

Some ideas:
http://www.advanc...pformmail/
http://stackoverf...gainst-bot

I like the concept of BOTCHA, https://drupal.or...ect/botcha.
The approach of BOTCHA is to add various elements to forms that need protection from bots. These elements do not present new fields to users, so BOTCHA is completely transparent to humans. Both humans and bots submit those forms and BOTCHA performs heuristic analysis on each submitted form. Bots are usually programs/scripts that are relatively dumb, and most of the time they fail BOTCHA tests and human users don't.

Why? Starefossen made a nice functionality for captchas in the core. Look at includes/captchas.

Would it be possible to have a random Captcha come up with each call?

Why not? It is possible to create a pseudo-captcha which includes another captcha on each call.

I'm not sure what pseudo-captcha means. Let me be more specific in my question.

By random captcha I mean, First time the register page (or whatever) is brought up, your slide captcha is loaded, second time, the recaptcha is loaded, third time, a different type that requires a different method of verification is loaded. Place this on a random sequence.

By pseudo-captcha I mean a plugin that includes a different types of captchas (e.g. Recaptcha, secureimage, secureimage2, Glider). Pseudo means it is only a layer between a real captcha and PHP-Fusion core.

And yes, it is really possible to make.

Filon, this is rather a question for the developers of that captcha, but maybe you can answer it.
If the botmakers get through this horizontal slider, would it not be possible to add a "degree angle" randomizer?

Lets say you use that captcha, but it it no longer is only horizontal, but it could be twisted to say 93 degrees randomly and you would slide from up to down, right to left, left to right, down to up,. Take those 360 degrees we have, randomize the angle of the captcha, and you have, potentially , a captcha that is 360 times safer, sorta... Wink
