DESCRIPTION

fusionBoard 4 is a huge enhancement to Fusion 7's standard forums. It updates the forums
to compete with bigger, more complex forums without sacrificing the lightweight attribute
that we all love PHP-Fusion for.

It is highly configurable through the admin panel, letting you turn on/off about any
feature in the whole package

ABOUT / BIO

I never thought fB4 would get this big. I've devoted the last 3 weeks of my life
to this project and it's really a community-driven project. I implement 99% of
user feature requests, so if you think something would fit into the fB4 project,
contact me or post it on the phpInvent forums...

I'd like to give much of the credit to my buddies over at phpInvent;
willy888, Fangree_Craig, and Daywalker for starters.

Without them I don't think I would be this far into the project.

Yeah, I had a problem uploading. I re-uploaded it though, should be working.
Thanks

thanks SoBeNoFear !!!!!
Nice work, but will still continue using ExtBoard :P
As for the "awards", feel free to use our Medal Mod, to be found on OPEN BETA b)
Th e Awards feature in FB4 does not work it does not save medals.
Ah it seems that you can not add medals in Firefox but I tryed in IE and it did work.

I have looked in awardRender.php and noticed at line 20 there is a code calling IE.

CodeDownload
if($br->Name !== "MSIE"){
         echo "<a onClick='deleteAward(".$data['award_id'].", ".$_GET['q'].");'>delete</a><br />\n";
      } else {
         echo "<a href='".INFUSIONS."fusionboard4/admin.php".$aidlink."&amp;section=awards&amp;del=".$data['award_id']."'>delete</a><br />\n";

is this the code we change to get it to work in firefox or can you add a code so it will work in firefox.

thanks

Nope, it doesn't affect your ranks at all

Actually, it worked the opposite way on my test site.. Firefox worked amazingly with the AJAX award management. Do you have javascript enabled on Firefox? Internet Explorer didn't like how I called up AJAX so I chose to have IE revert back to the old POST/GET method..

If it doesn't work for you and you have JS enabled, just change:

CodeDownload
if($br->Name !== "MSIE"){

to

CodeDownload
if($br->Name !== "MSIE" && $br->Name !== "Firefox"){

You should update the license included as well, we're under AGPL 3, not 1.

And the copyright footer, is not correct.

Sorry lads, that just isn't an Appropriate Legal Notice as stated in the license. I hope you change that to what it should be.

That's weird, because I copied the file from the RC2 package.

And it's fixed.

By the way, do the infusions made for PHP-Fusion have to fall under the same license as PHP-Fusion?
No it doesn't. You can decide what license you want to have yourself.
Wrong! They cannot be less than AGPL!

I changed that code but it still does not work.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but arent infusions/mods written by someone their own intellectual property. If it is such, then they can put their work under whatever liscense that they choose to hold them under from a legal stand point anyway.

Also, is anyone else having problems creating subforums?

Update: I think I figured out my problem with the subforums bit. I had already put the forums in and such it wasnt registering them as being in there. I can select them now.

Also, my opinion it would be nice if when you were selecting Parent Forum that it JS'd to only allow the selection of a parent forum in that category.

I had issues with sub forums & indeed trying to post after modding, but i have a dirty installation at the moment,

I think I'm going to have to do some funky stuff to migrate from v6 to fusionbaord & v7

Yeah, that's what I thought about it, because if I write an infusion, I want to be able to put it under any license I choose since I'm the one making it.

And I don't quite understand what you mean by the subforums problem. Nor do I understand your suggestion, please explain. :)
My problem was:

When in the Content Administration Forum section. Where you would Add Edit Remove Forums the Parent Forum menu would show the Categories of my forums, but I couldnt select any of the actual forums.

Now once I had clicked Edit for the Forums in the categories and refreshed the screen I was able to make selections.

My Thought on that is maybe when the Infusion is infused it could recognize the forums in the categories right away?

My Suggestion:
When you look at the Parent Forum menu it shows All categories that you've made and the forums all categories. My Suggestion would be to make it JS'd with the Category Selection menu. And when you select a Category for your Forum to be added to, the Parent Forum selection menu shouldfocus on only that category.

Catch my meaning now?

All in all, this is a great modification to the forums. Thank you I needed the subforums!

Update:
Another suggestion I would say for the Subforum listing in the Index, I would make it only visible to those that have the rights to view those forums. Right now, even if you dont have the rights to view those subforums, if you have the rights to the parent, then you can see what subforums are attached to that parent forum.
Downloading now, been looking forward to this!
