Backing up my site

Hi all,

I have just installed v7 and have already put a load of info on it.

I went to back it up in database back up and when I clicked backup it just sent me to the home page.
Can anyone please help as am stumped why this is doing this.
Cheers in advance
Enter your (right) password in the backup page.
Trying backing up the database using phpmyadmin which should be located in your hosts control panel.

Thanks Sharky I had a look and all was well until I tried to reastore it. The link tells me what to do but it did not work for the restore.

Done a bit more in the admin panal and there is only one part that when i try to backup send me to the home page and that is Fusion_custom_pages. Does this help as it is starting to do my head in.

Cheers
